Wow, been a while since Iolite has made a debut in her train form
Iolite needs to fly in the light of a full moon once a month. This is how she gains her energy, as she does not consume coal and water the way the average locomotive does. She drinks through her wings, which is why her tanks have no opening... the fire in her firebox burns in blue, and is touchless. Her wings are immense and only appear to be awkward... in fact they are powerful and more then enough to keep her airborne. She is agile and fast despite her rather large appearance... but once she is in the air, she no longer steams and uses her vast energy reserves to pump her wings in the motion of flight. Iolite glides like an eagle, she makes no sound and can remain airborne for as long as a full 24 hour day without rest.
